About Me!

Välkommen! Or should I say Velkommen! If you’ve already perused the front page, you should have a bit of an idea of who I am. But why not tell you more! My name is Matt from Bloomington, Illinois and I am currently a junior at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. Or how we like to call it at Carleton, the land of cows, colleges, and contentment! I am a Chemistry major also pursuing a minor in biochemistry. While not studying for my next difficult chemistry test, I play baseball for my school(go Knights!) as both a pitcher and outfielder. I was even named a pitcher of the week my freshman year!

I will be studying abroad thanks to DIS this fall in the Medicine Biotechnology and Drug Development core course. I will also be taking classes such as Biology of Marine Mammals, Epigenetics and the Environment, and Partners and Rivals: EU-US Relations. I’m super interested in drug development, vaccine development, and overall the pursuit for the unknown, especially in science!

I will be staying this fall in a home stay. Other than going to London when I was 11, I have never been out of the country. I am tentatively planning on visiting Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Spain, and can’t wait to be whisked off to Portugal for my core course study tour. I will be taking LUDICROUS amounts of pictures everywhere I go, so expect to see everything like I will!

Thanks for tuning in and I hope you’ll join me on this great adventure!
